Counselors in Training (CIT)
Does your camper dream of being a camp counselor one day? If so, then this is the program for them! Our CIT program is open to campers entering 8th – 9th grades who are not yet old enough to become official camp counselors. Our CIT program offers campers the chance to engage in leadership building activities, assist with our younger campers during the daily activities, and share and reflect on their experiences with peers.
CITs will still have an opportunity to swim in the pond, and they will get to visit the Adventure Park once a week, all the while earning 10 SSL hours throughout the week. This program is the perfect transition from being a full time camper to a member of our staff!
*Summer at Sandy Spring is SSL approved by Montgomery County Public Schools, but please check with your child’s individual school before camp begins to ensure SSL hours will be accepted.
